Marco

Meet Marco, racing name Killiford Marco, who is just 2 1/2 years old (DOB 01/07/2022). Marco is, as you can see an extremely handsome blue boy, he's only recently joined and was fostered for a short time with another female greyhound. However it has become apparent that Marco does have "sleep startle" and because of this we now think he'd be better in a home on his own.

Marco is a very friendly boy, who absolutely adores cuddles and will lean all over you given the chance. He's quite a young lad so can be playful and a little bouncy at times, because of this we think he'd be better with older teenage children or in an adult home. He would prefer someone around for most of the day but can be left on his own for short periods which can probably be extended over time. Marco generally walks well on the lead if a little erratic due to wanting to sniff lots of things on the way. Marco hasn't raced and he has been good with all the other dogs he's met so far, happy to walk past or say hello nicely.   He is not cat friendly though. 

He is a young lad still learning about life outside racing kennels, but he's proved he can be clean in the house and has learnt how to go upstairs. He is a little wary of traffic and can be nervous around larger vans and lorries or fast moving traffic. This will improve if his exposure to them is managed to not over face him. He just needs someone with a little experience of dogs and able to manage his sleep startle to give him a chance.
